A farm like no other – Tamarisk Farm is more than just breathtaking, situated as it is on Dorset’s dramatic Jurassic coastline – it is also a unique combination of old and new, traditional and modern. ‘Fundamentally organic’ since before certification existed, this 600-acre family farm grows cereal crops and livestock in a mixed rotational system that prioritises soil health and pasture diversity, in turn ensuring the wellbeing of its animals – whose grazing habits and manure are equally as important for the fertility and ecology of the farm as a whole. Indeed – Tamarisk Farm is steeped in an escapable philosophy and celebration of holism.

Second generation farmer Ellen, her husband Adam, daughter Leila and son-in-law Ben together farm and produce grassfed organic beef and lamb, free-range pastured eggs, grains and stoneground flours as well as the yarns and sheepskins from their mixed flock of five native sheep breeds that beautifully exhibit Nature’s rainbow of wool colours.
